Often times, winter can seem a little daunting and even depressing as the cold months drag on and on…
But I’m here to help you find the excitement, wonder and joy that winter can bring you all season long.
To me, romance is about fun, comfort, silliness and of course adventure.
So when this time of year rolls around, I start thinking of fun winter date ideas for me and my partner.
The key behind winter date ideas, is planning an activity that takes advantage of the season – whether that’s taking in the gorgeous winter scenery, enjoying the weather or using the dropping temperatures as an excuse to cozy up with your date.
It’s time to get out for some fun this winter, here are my suggestions for a perfect winter date ideas to heat up your winter:
Go Ice Skating Together
What better way to break the ice than skating on it?
Ice skating is one of my favourites winter date ideas to do for an ideal date.
You just need to remind yourself there are fun things about the cold and we need to enjoy the season instead of curse it.
I feel like ice skating is one of those perfect dates that has it all. You can hold hands romantically the entire time.
Couples That Cook Together Stay Together
It can be hard to keep coming up with good winter date ideas for a date night.
Going out for meals is a classic standby, but if you are trying to spice things up, the best place to start is in the kitchen.
Save yourself from venturing too far outside by spending it in the kitchen instead – you will also save some $$.
Go all out and cook something you would normally order delivery for.
With a flask of your favourite beverage tucked into a coat pocket, head outside and challenge each other to a snow tussle.
Though snow may be a lot of fun if you are actually in the mood to play in it, it’s not always so great when you aren’t
Even if you are not up for a long snowy walk, there are still plenty of other fun ways to get in a good workout in the snow.
It is estimated that running around during the course of a snow fight can burn as many as 500 calories per hour.
Outdoor Winter Markets
If you and your significant other don’t mind a bit if chilly weather, spend the evening at your local winter fest, there are many local winter events in your area, don’t miss out by visiting events near me this weekend.
And guess what? Cold weather can actually be a good thing.
Cold in general can restrict blood vessels, which turn slow down the body’s circulation and reduces swelling.
Studies show that in addition to numbing nerve endings to reduce pain, cold can also boost blood levels of norepinephrine, a natural pain reliever.
