Toronto’s Absolute Best Rooftop Patios

July 14, 2016

BWhen it comes to rooftop patios, Toronto has some “must-sees”. Places you would not expect to be so relaxed away from it all!

Terroni YONGE (at Price Street)

This midtown location features a three-storey café/wine bar/restaurant with a cozy rooftop patio with private nooks and large white umbrellas for a summer date night. The laid back patio has one of the most awesome views of Toronto’s skyline. Add to that the European Café feel with the regal Summerhill clock tower as a backdrop and you’ve got it made in the shade!

Drake Hotel’s Sky Yard

The Drake Hotel’s Sky Yard patio is situated in the hip, never sleeping Queen West neighbourhood. It is a trendy late-night hangout and an all-season space complete with its own satellite cocktail bar. Drake Sky Yard has just about everything you’d expect from a rooftop space and more including its own bar, famous mojitos and a perfect brunch time vibe.

Momofuko Daishō

This third floor chic patio of Momofuko’s modern glass-and-wood cube complex is located beside the Shangri-La Hotel. The unique sculpture at street level is an unmistakable landmark. Daisho specializes in large-format meals for groups. It features contemporary cuisine amid the reflective scene of glassy skyscrapers. Overlooking University Avenue, this place has become one of the Financial District’s more trendy eating spaces.

Harvest Kitchen

Harvest kitchen is very different from other rooftop patios in Toronto because it does not feature a great view of the city skyline or plunge you into the business of the downtown skyscrapers. Rather, it makes you feel as if you are in a forest surrounded by trees. The earthy colors and the couches will make you feel right at home, and the trees that surround the patio will make you feel more at peace and connected with nature (almost like a break from the city, without actually having to leave it).

Complete with 6 very different style pubs connected within 3 Victorian mansions, this place has a piano bar, a full service restaurant and a famous rooftop patio. The patio is open all summer long including at night, so if you want a cool outdoor experience (and are a student) than this place is for you. The food is amazing; so grab a bite in the cool summer night air!
