You didn’t travel to NYC to eat McDonalds or Applebee’s. Here are the dining experiences to write home about:
Jazz Standard Jazz Club and Restaurant
We mean it literally when we say that this place has it all. Live world-class jazz music, the warmest hospitality in NYC and award-winning Southern cuisine (including barbecue!). As this place is so popular, both legends and rising stars play here. As for the food, famous caramelized banana cream pie and beignets follow an amazing dinner of saucy ribs and what will be the best fried chicken you will ever have in a NYC restaurant.
Lavo Italian Restaurant
Interesting food and extravagant shows meet here. The menu at Lavo has an entire section dedicated to meatballs, as well as raw food. Grab a piece of strawberry shortcake, which is usually a mile tall, or even a margarita Pizza. On Sunday nights, a dinner party takes places that is themed like the Italian Riviera where you can enjoy a signature dish from the chef while being surrounded by magicians, jugglers, stilt-walkers and dancers while a live band plays. Unarguably, this is one of the most unique dining experiences in all of NYC.

Gramercy Tavern
They call themselves a “revival and renewal of the classic American tavern” and believe me they have definitely changed things up (in a good way). There are two eating sections here, the tavern and the dining room. The tavern serves à la carte dishes, some cooked on a wood-burning grill, such as Duck Liver Mousse and Island Creek Oysters (which sound insanely interesting and delicious). The dining room décor will make you feel as if you are inside of a log cabin during the American Revolution and serves things like Lobster salad (is this even a salad anymore?), Lamb Loin & Shoulder and desserts made with so many intricate ingredients that I don’t know where to start.
Opaque Dark Dining
Taste is everything at this restaurant as you dine in the dark. The food is prepared by a highly trained staff of blind or visually impaired chefs. During your visit, you will be guided and served by their renowned staff and will get a dining experience that you never thought possible. This truly is the dining experience for those who have seen it all!

ABC Kitchen
At this restaurant, the chefs are pretty passionate about making food created from fresh, safe ingredients. The food is seasonal and made from locally-sourced ingredients. That being said, the food served here is definitely different from the food served at other restaurants in the world where these standards do not exist. The food here is free from pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics and hormones. Start with a Mushroom and Farm Egg Pizza or perhaps an Akaushi Cheeseburger (I can’t even imagine what these taste like) and end with a salted caramel sundae with popcorn and peanuts!
