The #TulipFestival first started introducing ‘themes’ in 1994. The first #festival #theme was “ATribute to the Origin Country of the Tulip – #Turkey”. During World War II Canada provided a safe haven for Princess Juliana of the Netherlands. After the war was over, the princess sent tulip bulbs to Canada as a sign of friendship between the two countries. The flowers were so popular that in 1953 it was decided to organize a yearly tulip spring festival in Ottawa-Gatineau. Moreover, nowadays it’s one of the largest tulip spring festivals in the world!

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival
A mild climate ensures that Vancouver welcomes spring earlier than the rest of Canada. Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival is a perfect event to celebrate and welcome spring!
Vancouver has more than 45,000 cherry trees, most of them are the gift from Japan. This is the only month-long festival of spring in entire Canada. Vancouver looks like a completely different city with pink and white colors all over the area. Moreover, the festival continues with garden tours, art demonstrations, bike tours and many others.

Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival
The Annapolis Valley is located close to Nova Scotia Bay of Fundy. The first Apple Blossom Festival was held in 1933 and its main goal was to promote the apple industry and show scenic beauty of the area as well as celebrate the end of the winter.
Nowadays this spring festival is a visit card of the Nova Scotia region and it marks the beginning of the tourism season.
Visitors have the opportunity to participate in many activities during the festival. It includes hikes, barbeques, different concerts, craft fairs and much other stuff.
It usually runs at the end of May. So don’t hesitate and come and check this amazing celebration!
