1. Throw An Indoor Picnic
This is a mini picnic at home with your family. In the biggest room of your house, bring in the big and small pillows, scatter some cushions or loose blankets. Now set out a picnic blanket and basket of food and eat your lunch as though you were having a picnic. Lie back into the pillows and relax while you can watch TV or tell a few jokes.
2. Organize A Movie Night
Watching movies is one of my all-time favorite things to do. It’s such a great way to escape boredom. And family movie nights at home with family are a super special time to chill. Make sure you have plenty of popcorn and snacks on hand.
3. Cook With Family
Got little picky eaters? Kids with such taste buds are more likely to eat what they make.While it may not be practical to cook together every day, there are many benefits to this delicious family activity. Doing it together teaches the kids about nutrition and gives them an appreciation for healthier foods.
4. Read An Interesting Story Book
Anytime is a good time for a book or story. Try to share at least one book or story each day. Take turns reading out loud. Interact about what is going on in the story line. This can be your own family book club.The special time you spend reading together promotes bonding and helps to build your relationship.
5. Have Water-gun Or Water Balloon Fight
This activity is best done outdoors in warm weather. This is an “action” activity that brings out the youthfulness in all of us. Go outside and aim for your target. Run, laugh and have fun!
6. Have A Family Photoshoot
Plan for the photo-shoot ahead with regards to props, outfits, location, theme, and timing. You need to be creative in the photos you take. Take funny pictures, some serious ones, some candid shots, and the group pictures, as well as individual. The joy of digital photography is that you can take as many photos as you like and delete what doesn’t work.
7. Re-Arrange Your Rooms
You might probably get bored of seeing the same arrangement of furniture since ages. It’s time to give your room a new look and this is the right time. Trip got cancelled, but whatever happens, happens for good, your room will thank you.
8. Exercise Together
Exercising as a family is not only a fun way to improve fitness, it’s a way to cultivate the culture of wellness and develop positive exercise habits at a young age. In fact, with little ones watching us as an example, exercise becomes even more important.
9. Have BBQ
This is an activity full of fun you can do in your yard, that keeps everyone engaged with food and gossips. Take turns to flip the food. After you are finished, have a campfire. Enjoy the night sky. Most of all, enjoy each other’s company.
