At these cosplay cafés, waitresses are dressed as maids and act like servants in a private home, treating customers as their masters. Established in Tokyo in 2001, these cafés are getting popular and expanding to other countries. They are considered by tourists to be one of the most entertaining things to do in Tokyo.
Tsukiji Fish Market
This is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. The biggest attraction is the tuna auctions (be sure to check if public access is allowed that day). If you want to experience amazing food while in Tokyo make sure to have a sushi breakfast here (they are amazing at the market’s restaurants).
Cat Cafés
This is for our cat lovers. Cat cafés have become popular worldwide, but their origin lies in Japan and Tokyo is riddled with some amazing cafés. There are more than 70 cat cafés around the city. Try Cat Café Kyariko Shinjuku which has about 50 cats, or The Rest Area which gives complimentary slippers and has comfy couches!
Robot Restaurant
As the name suggests, this place is all about Robots. Dancing robots, flashing laser lights and huge mirrors will give you an unforgettable night. It’s a loud and super crazy place, perhaps best for the ones who love to party.
