Help Earth Day Canada grow the global forest from April 1 – 30! Participate in Earth’s day ‘pledge and plant’ campaign and help grow a forest of 25,000 trees for Earth’s day 25th anniversary. Donation starting from $ 10 (for this you will get one tree planted, your name on #Rooting4Trees Treehugger list and on the 25th Anniversary Earth Flag).

 

Earth Ball

(Friday April 22th, 2016 at The Beer Hall at Mill St. Brew Pub)

 This annual event hosts more than 400 business and environmental leaders in celebration of environmental achievement, guests can enjoy a culinary experience by renowned Chef Michael coupled with exciting entertainment by MC Rick Miller, Kidoons and his band Trainwreck, and bid on exciting items available at the Silent Auction!

 

OM Chanting for Mother Earth

(Friday April 22th, 2016 Trinity-St Paul’s United Church, Bloor Street West)

Chant OM to heal Mother Earth. Join this free group meditation event to give positive healing energy to Mother Earth. Participants will chant the primordial sound of OM for 45 mins continuously.

 

Taylor Creek Park Clean-up & Campfire

(Sat April 23rd, 2016 at Taylor Creek Park)

Volunteers will be sent out with a team captain and a map showing where large amounts of trash have been found and geolocated (over the last few months). Be sure to dress in clothes that you’re OK with getting dirty, and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots with good treads. A wide brimmed hat and sunblock are recommended. Gloves, and garbage and recycling bags will be provided. A big campfire will start from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm.

 

Downsview Park’s annual Earth Day tree planting

(Sun 24th April 2016 at Downsview Park)

Participation is free, pre-registration is required and a non-perishable food item is requested for donation in support of the North York Harvest Food Bank. One tree planted per person/family, while trees last. Shovels and tools provided. Staff are available to assist. Please dress appropriately and register in advance.
