We waited all year for couple of beautiful warmth weather months, and now it’s time for weekend getaways, take off and enjoy the nature. You don’t have to pack your bags and go miles away, a cheap train tickets or few hours of drive from NYC has the most beautiful breathtaking views. Here is a list of four public transportation- accessible hidden gem in New York.


New Paltz, NY
Small town in New York State between New York City and Albany, it is known for rock climbing. The Shawangunk Ridge is considered one of the best rock climbing sites in North America. The unbeatable view of Minnewaska State Park is only an hour away from New York city. The park features countless waterfalls, clear lake, and forest. Bring your bike and enjoy an easy trail alongside of the river. The 42 acres Robibero Family Vineyards is in a very short distance from the park, just outside of New Paltz. You can enjoy picturesque award winning grapevines on an outdoor deck, and check out wine making process. In Downtown area, you’ll find great restaurants, galleries, free outdoor movies, etc.

Ashbury Park, JN
A cheap train ride from Manhattan would take you to this family friendly destination. This small historic seaside city on the New Jersey coast, offers one of the best beaches in the country. Sandy beaches, great surf, nightlife activities, unique shops and restaurants, and breathtaking views are some of the attraction of this shore town. The historic downtown celebrates summer with so many different festivals, parades, parties, and events. The diverse population of the town offers unique restaurants and culture from Japanese to Mediterranean to Italian.

Also the red fishing shack of Rockport  is one of the iconic places that always photographed or painted, is one of the main tourist attractions.
