New Paltz, NY
Small town in New York State between New York City and Albany, it is known for rock climbing. The Shawangunk Ridge is considered one of the best rock climbing sites in North America. The unbeatable view of Minnewaska State Park is only an hour away from New York city. The park features countless waterfalls, clear lake, and forest. Bring your bike and enjoy an easy trail alongside of the river. The 42 acres Robibero Family Vineyards is in a very short distance from the park, just outside of New Paltz. You can enjoy picturesque award winning grapevines on an outdoor deck, and check out wine making process. In Downtown area, you’ll find great restaurants, galleries, free outdoor movies, etc.

A cheap train ride from Manhattan would take you to this family friendly destination. This small historic seaside city on the New Jersey coast, offers one of the best beaches in the country.
