San Francisco may otherwise be an expensive city and can be heavy on your pocket. However, surprisingly, you can still find affordable yet beautiful places to spend your summer days there. Check them out before to get out to explore San Francisco:
Get Tanned In Dolores Park
If you like getting tanned lying on the slopped grass laden open space with a view of downtown San Francisco, you need to be here. On sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline. However, since this is a Leave no Trace park remember to pack out your trash.
Stroll Around The Embarcadero
A number of San Francisco attractions are sprinkled along this street and it’s a popular place for strolling. San Francisco Ferry Building, a vibrant gathering of local farmers, artisan producers, and independently owned and operated food businesses, is the picturesque view. Along your walk, you’ll see metal plaques in the sidewalk, as well as 13-foot-tall columns, featuring photographs, poems, and stories about San Francisco.
Admire The Ships At The Hyde Street Pier

If you head towards the far end of Fisherman’s Wharf, you will walk onto the Hyde Street Pier, is a home to half a dozen historic ships, and only a few dollars to enter into the historic ships is worth. It takes the visitors aboard the Balclutha, a cargo ship built in 1886. If you look towards west to the waters in front of Aquatic Park that houses the largest maritime collection of more than 500,000 photographs and 2,500 pieces of folk and fine art showcase the region’s rich maritime heritage. Last but not the least is the view of Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay at end of the pier.

Walk or cycle in Crissy Field
The credit goes to the National Park Service and volunteers, Crissy Field was able to reopen in 2001. With an enclosed wetlands area and a three-mile path running alongside the bay, joggers and bicyclists cruise along the water’s edge of San Francisco Bay. You can also rent a bike and ride along the trails between Marina Green and Fort Point, or along the Golden Gate Promenade, enjoying front-row views of waves and water.
Explore Chinatown
San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest one in North America, and is one of the most popular attractions in San Francisco. More people visit Chinatown than the Golden Gate Bridge. The residents are almost all Chinese and often speak little English. You can easily spend your entire day here, exploring the streets and alleys, browsing the shops and enjoying the authentic Chinese food.
