There are so many beautiful places to run in the world. Whether you’re looking for challenging terrain or simply to enjoy scenery, check out these top spots for runners.
McKenzie River Trail
Experience everything from waterfalls, the beautiful Clear Lake, log bridges and green forests at the famous McKenzie River Trail in Oregon, USA. This place is a hotspot for runners and is known for the 31 mile McKenzie River Trail Run happening in September.
Mount Sanitas
This is an intense (and scenic) running area located in the mountainous Boulder, Colorado. Run on the uphill trail for a difficult, elevated run through the mountains. This area also provides a great view of downtown Denver and the mountain summit Longs Peak.
Mill Creek Ravine
Take it slow and enjoy some scenery in this beautiful ravine in Edmonton, Alberta. The green forestry and little rivers will leave you breathless. Be mindful of Canadian winters though (summer is the best time to visit).
Rim to Rim Run, Grand Canyon
Running from rim to rim in the Grand Canyon is difficult as there are tricky elevation changes in the North and South rims (and everywhere in between), but it is worth it to experience the stunning heights and rock formations. This run is recommended for regular runners. Make sure that you prepare for the elements but also for some amazing views!
